While constructing a road and tunnel in the city centre of Richmond, Virginia, a magnificent find of crystallized Vivianite was made, with many world-class specimens recovered. Over the years we have had very few examples from this famous discovery and are delighted to offer this 9.5 cm long, matrixless small cabinet specimen. Long, slender Vivianite in lath-like crystals form a bowtie-shaped specimen whose crystals appear deep inky blue, but in strong transmitted light are mild sea green. This is an excellent example of Vivianite from this most unlikely locality in downtown Richmond, close to Interstate 95. This specimen is accompanied with a printed and handwritten 'The Brauns' label of Ridgefield, Connecticut.
