A very, very pretty pastel blue specimen showcasing the "other" species from Kelly Mine, which most people ignore in their pursuit of the famous smithsonites. Kelly Mine is also famous and deservedly known among local circles for a limited, much more rare supply of the mineral aurichalcite. Here, we have a beautiful matrix plate of aurichalcite hosting several small discrete crystals of smithsonite. Generally, this is rare old material from the 1960s or prior, not modern era from later finds into the 70s-90s. Nothing much comes out today. Laszlo Kupi photo.
