Aurichalcite
Beautiful crystals of turquoise-deep sky-blue Aurichalcite line vuggy cavities in an iron-stained matrix of Calcite from Craig Rhiwarth mine at Llangynog in Powys, Wales. The crystals vary between 1 and 2 mm across and are of a blocky habit rather than the common acicular form. A rich, very well crystallised specimen of Aurichalcite from this little-known Victorian mine which operated from the 1840s until the 1870s.
