A now rare old location for crystal specimens of Diopside from De Kalb in St. Lawrence County, New York, USA. A well-formed single gemmy pastel lime green Diopside crystal grading to opaque off-white at its base and measuring 3.9 cm tall. The crystal has a near perfect termination whose faces are naturally pitted resulting in a semi-matt lustre, whereas the prism faces are glassy and lustrous. Full of character and class, the specimen comes with an nice old handwritten label stating "Pirosseno diopside // De Kalb, New York".
