A truly spectacular, high-quality Kunzite specimen from the famous gem pegmatites of Nuristan that features an immense, fully-terminated Kunzite crystal that is almost completely covered on one side by epitaxial clusters of Elbaite; the reverse side of the specimen offers an unobstructed view of this striking Kunzite crystal. Along with a signature pastel pink color, the Kunzite is gemmy and heavily striated, the latter of which pairs wonderfully with the crystal's strong, glassy luster. Apart from their sharp hexagonal shapes and nice transparency, the Elbaite crystals have a bright green hue that gives a powerful contrast to the specimen. Milky white Quartz crystals pop up around the Elbaite clusters. Kunzite specimens from this region will most often be found as loose crystals or associated with other minerals like Quartz and Albite, possibly with small amounts of Tourmaline. To find a specimen that has Elbaite in this quantity and quality is an unusual and terrific find! This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
