LARSENITE with Hodgkinsonite
Two Franklin mine rarities on one small miniature specimen. Larsenite, as straw-yellow acicular microcrystals, occurs on top of pink, glassy, Hodgkinsonite microcrystals lining a small cavity arrowed at one end of the specimen. Franklin mine is the Type Locality for both species. Clinohedrite is also recorded by the previous collector, but a strong vivid green fluorescence indicates that the matrix is most likely Willemite. The previous collector acquired this specimen from Cureton Mineral Co., in Tucson, Arizona in 1983 and that original label , documenting that it came from 400 Level, and from John Albanese (1898-1969), is retained with it.
