For this quality and size, it is hard to find good, sharply terminated, natural tanzanites under $10,000 any more, but we purchased this from a gem dealer out of a lot of marginal cutting rough material and not priced solely as a specimen at the time. This is a relatively large, 64 gram tanzanite crystal showing natural colors, not enhanced by heat treatments. It is complete all around and has a fancy termination with surprising clarity and glassiness at the top in particular. A little dark without light, it glows blue and purple when backlight properly, and shows off that truly gem clear termination so you see the facet-like point on it. It is the termination that is most special here, as it is very different than normal flat or chisel like terminations, and more interesting.
