Beautiful Smoky Quartz crystals, from the G'schenen Valley in the Uri canton of Switzerland, develop outwards and in parallel from a cloudy-white Faden line running diagonally through the specimen. This indicates a zone of re-healing during crystal growth within a low grade metamorphic environment. Apart from the Faden line, the Quartz crystals are, in the main, totally transparent and of a rich clove-brown. A splendid Smoky Faden Quartz from Switzerland.
