Famous, not just for its minerals, but its wonderful name too, Rock Candy mine at Grand Forks in British Columbia, Canada conjures visions of crystals good enough to eat. This tasty specimen comes from Arvid Pasto's famous Fluorite collection and features one of the classics from this mine - octahedral Fluorite crystals with complex, finely crystallized shimmering, stepped surfaces. Beneath the outer pale purple crystal surface the Fluorite is white and this is displayed well, across the side of the sample as a cross-section through the crystals, with the zonation in colour occurring dramatically. A few small colourless and cream coloured Baryte crystals are studded across the surface of the Fluorite. Although none of the Fluorite crystals are complete beyond one side of the octahedron (i.e. a pyramid), they are well-formed and the side view into the crystals to see the pronounced zonation is especially nice to see.
