This wonderful larger display specimen of golden Baryte comes from the famous Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine in the Schwarzenberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. World-renowned for its wonderful amber-coloured Baryte, specimens from this mine are often single crystals or small aggregates, but this one is a real statement piece with a plate-like matrix liberally scattered with excellent glossy wedge-shaped Baryte crystals, many to 1.5 cm in length. The aesthetic qualities of this piece are remarkable. Ex Hans Engelbrecht Collection.
