Etched smoky quartz floater crystal, 9 cm, with a slight gwindel, from St. Gotthard, Canton Uri, Switzerland. Ex American Museum of Natural History, collection of Clarence S. Bement (1843–1923). The museum file card with attached original label in Bement’s handwriting indicates that this piece was in Bement’s personal display collection. Collected in the late 1800s. Photo by Jeff Scovil.
