The Sanguozhuang Pb-Zn mine, Sanguozhuang, Dongchuan District, Kunming, Yunnan, China has, in recent years, produced the world's finest specimens of Veszelyite - copper zinc phosphate hydrate hydroxide. This small miniature specimen shows the richness of what has been found at that mine. The matrix consists of grey-white microbotryoidal Hemimorphite upon which is a dense coverage of deep, electric blue Veszelyite crystal sprays with a fine resinous to greasy lustre. The Veszelyite forms clustered aggregates of sharp bladed crystals producing curved serrated linear aggregates, sometimes with a twist in the centre. The sprays reach 4 mm in length, with some slightly aggregated. This is an extremely rich Veszelyite: colourful, dramatic, and well crystallized.
