A stunning GEM example of selenite from what many of us consider to be, overall, the best of species discovery for beautiful display specimens. Although common overall, this particular find, from around 2005-10 range, featured such intensely colorful crystals in such transparent quality. The combination of color, gemminess, and aesthetics here just still carries the day, even long after. This perfect miniature was the piece bought at the time they came out, by Paul Stahl, and graced his collection of miniatures and small cabinet pieces. Even though he was much more known for rare and valuable species, this is the gypsum that fit, even among fancier chemistry and high priced items. It is just a jewel!
