This delightful miniature combines two of Tsumeb's signature species: dioptase and cerussite. The smoky cerussites are intergrown, with the cluster contacted on the back and coarsely tiered and twinned on the front. This serves as a complementary base for the fields of gemmy and lustrous dioptase crystals, which add a very aesthetic touch to this association. Lustrous and mm-size, these sparkly, green dioptase crystals preferentially grow on several of the cerussite faces. Not only are the dioptase crystals attractive in and of themselves, but the preferential growth is interesting and intriguing, giving the piece a look that elevates the quality of the specimen.
