The harsh mountains of the Gilgit-Baltistan region in northern Pakistan have provided the world with some exceptional mineral specimens, extracted from their rich pegmatite deposits. Sometimes these are very large, and other times it is the exceptional beauty of smaller specimens that catches the eye. This magnificent large miniature specimen of Beryl var. Aquamarine with Topaz, Cleavelandite and Quartz from Dassu in the Braldu Valley, Skardu District demonstrates this perfectly.
