This uniquely beautiful cluster of Selenite crystals of Salinas de Otuma, aesthetically speaking, is in a league of its own. Spread across the top side of this specimen is a landscape of sharp, sizable fishtail-twin Selenite crystals (up to 4.9 centimeters) that are nicely underlined by a contrasting matrix. Signature to the locality, the Selenite is glassy, highly transparent, and has a rich amber-orange color; the small aggregates on the back side of the specimen, primarily the two large crystals at the center, are perfectly centered on the surface of the larger crystal, giving the impression of a phantom composed of inclusions. Under shortwave UV light, the Selenite fluoresces a pale greenish white color. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
