The name "Ram's Horn" Selenite is given to a particular habit of Gypsum where the crystal forms as a large and unusual curved column, much like a horn (hence the name). This piece is a dramatic example, showing a tall-standing, curving column of brilliant white, translucent Gypsum that parts about halfway up the specimen into two smaller, but still stout branches; the smaller of the two is more tightly coiled and positioned at the center of the piece while the larger branch continues along the specimen's original curvature, winding backward at the top of the specimen. Each of the smaller Gypsum crystals that compose this specimen have a nice, glassy luster, giving the specimen a shimmering display. This piece is complete all around, backlights incredibly well, and comes with a custom acrylic base.
