An old specimen with the old quality of purple phantoms and sharp, distinct crystals we know and love from the famous YGX mine in China. This specimen has sharp crystals, highly translucent, to just under 3 cm. It is almost a true killer, and has the "look" of a more expensive piece from the front. It has one missing corner in back, contacted with a slight bit of damage, but this is taken into account for the price and gives a strong look for a Chinese purple fluorite in the price range.

Quartz from Yaogangxian Mine, China
from the Yaogangxian Mine is rarely collected as an isolated species in the way one might pursue Alpine gwindels or Arkansas plates. Its power is as the luminous architecture of a complex tungsten-tin hydrothermal system: glassy points spearing through metallic bournonite, milky to water-clear groups carrying purple fluorite cubes, quartz prisms dusted with pyrite or arsenopyrite, and sharp crystals acting as the pale stage on which scheelite, muscovite, dolomite, calcite, stibnite, stannite, rhodochrosite, and chlorite play out one of China’s great specimen assemblages.
