A unique combination piece! Tantalite is usually blocky, but this flower-like cluster is exquisitely fine. Tabular, silvery muscovite crystals, to 3.5 cm in length, form the matrix for a lustrous, black rosette of tantalite, measuring 3 cm across. Ex. Herb Obodda collection. This is an old piece he brought out of Afghanistan personally, and it was in his personal collection (well known and often exhibited) of superb miniatures for over a decade before it sold. It remains a unique specimen, to this day, among other tantalite group minerals from this region.
