A wonderful combination of intense candy-floss pink colour and gemmy, glassy lustre makes this very large miniature Cobaltoan Calcite specimen from Mashamba West mine in the DR Congo difficult to miss. Translucent below, the crystal terminations are all transparent and extremely glassy. The crystals form several habits, but all mostly quite squat, with nail-head forms certainly dominant. Although there are several areas across the main display face that show gaps, these are not damage, but natural imperfections where the crystals didn't fully extend across the whole surface. A very pretty smaller display specimen with lots of lovely detail to be seen amongst the crystal surfaces.
