Despite being such a world-famous mineral-producing mine it is rare to know exactly where underground in Tsumeb mine individual mineral specimen came from. However, this distinctive radiating spray of pale peppermint-green acicular Aragonite comes from a discovery on the 28 Level. Small cabinet in size, it displays really well, with an unusual colour (thought to be from traces of copper) and very distinctive form for Tsumeb. There are admittedly many tips missing to the sharp, needle-like Aragonite crystals, but this is a rare surviving specimen from this find and stands out impressively despite these imperfections. This rarely seen habit of Tsumeb Aragonite comes from the generations-old Weyand Collection, in the town of Tsumeb.
