An attractive cluster of partly transparent lustrous pseudo-hexagonal twinned aragonite crystals measuring to 1.0 cm in size. Crystallized completely all around with very minimal micro-damage present.Tazouta, located in the Sefrou Cercle of the Fes-Meknes region in Morocco, is internationally celebrated as one of the world's premier localities for specimen aragonite. Geologically, the deposits sit within sedimentary strata where near-surface weathering and precipitation within red clay layers formed favorable conditions for crystal growth. Mineralogically, the site is famous for producing exceptional cyclic twins and pseudohexagonal clusters of aragonite. These distinct orange to white prismatic crystals often radiate from a common center to form symmetrical, highly aesthetic groups. Historically, specimen recovery at these shallow surface workings has been active for several decades, supplying the international mineral market with abundant, high-quality display pieces.
