Barite - Chrysocolla/Malachite

Dimensions: 4.6 x 3.6 x 2.5cm Locality: Shangulowé mine, Kambove, territory, Haut Katanga, DR Congo A recent discovery, mined at Shangulowé, a locality already famous for the 1997-2002 discoveries and the barite-malachite association. The thick, tabular crystals display honey-colored edges and attractive green malachite phantoms. Highly structured, they are embedded in blue-green chrysocolla, which recrystallizes on the surface of the barite. Very attractive specimens forming striking and photogenic contrasts. Few pieces are available. Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen. The mineral is not glued to the base (flexible sealant).
