Geologically, the deposit is situated within the Central African Copperbelt, hosted in Neoproterozoic sedimentary rocks where intense weathering and supergene enrichment processes led to the formation of rich secondary ore zones near the surface. Mineralogically, the area is world-renowned for its diverse and stunning assortment of secondary copper minerals, producing exceptional specimens of malachite, heterogenite, chrysocolla, and cuprite that are highly prized by collectors and museums worldwide.
