An exceptionally sharp and colorful example of Pakistani fluorapatite that packs a serious punch of rich rose-pink color. Fluorapatite from this region is renowned for its world-class aesthetics, but finding a specimen of this caliber, boasting such a deep, gem-like interior with soft salmon undertones, is far less common. This small-cabinet specimen displays very nicely, boasting sharp, well-defined, thick, tabular, hexagonal crystals 'rising' elegantly upward with defined, beveled edges and modified terminations. The faces all display glassy luster that reflects like a mirror, and range in translucency, with some areas being more transparent and others showing translucent clarity. This specimen is in outstanding condition; it has only been restored on the top flat surface of the main crystal termination in a very, very shallow slice near the edge, and that is almost invisible even under UV light when we look carefully. Given the overall quality, we consider a tiny restoration acceptable. This piece also fluoresces a straw-yellow color under SW UV. Excellent textbook definition and geometry, rich saturation, and superb balance make this a standout piece for the locality. Please note, this material is light sensitive and, like all pink apatites from any locality worldwide, really should be kept out of light and stored in a box.
