Attractive yellow green lustrous crystals of pyromorphite measuring to almost 1.0 cm in size throughout matrix. Slight damage present as seen. Nice example for this American classic.The Jersey Vein, located on the 9 Level of the underground Bunker Hill mine in Kellogg, Shoshone County, Idaho, represents an oxidized zone within a polymetallic orogenic deposit. Geologically, the mineralization is hosted within the quartzite units of the Upper Revett Formation, where east-to-northeast striking Galena-Quartz veins intersect regional bedding planes. Intense supergene weathering along structural fault networks oxidized the primary lead-zinc-silver sulfides down to a depth of several hundred meters, precipitating a secondary mineral assembly dominated by pyromorphite and cerussite. While large-scale corporate mining at Bunker Hill spanned from 1885 until primary closure in 1981, specialized lessor operations and specimen extraction along the 9 Level Jersey Vein occurred predominantly between 1984 and 1992.
