Exceptionally attractive, bright-metallic clusters of Miargyrite dominate the center of this very rich, display-quality small-cabinet specimen of the species from the Rosebud Mine in Nevada. Miargyrite is a rare silver sulfosalt and this specimen represents a phenomenal example of the species. The big group of Miargyrite consists of more flattened crystals in the center. It is encircled by several, smaller, extraordinary crystal groups featuring stacked clusters of sharp, silvery dark gray metallic, somewhat striated monoclinic crystals to nearly 1 cm - which are large for the species! It is just a very well-composed piece with unusual balance for such specimens, and the Miargyrite is set off nicely by the white Quartz/Chalcedony matrix. This very fine piece was part of Paul Stahl's rarities suite and we sold it to him out of the Marty Zinn rarities collection back in 2003-4, if I recall correctly. It remains one of my favorite examples of this species for presentation and impact. Ex. Paul Stahl collection.
