An exceptional large sharply formed and lustrous crystal of native copper 3.5 cm in size in an aesthetic cluster without matrix. In super condition. I think this piece fantastic. At one time part of the George Robbe collection at the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum at Michigan Tech University. The size and quality of this crystal is outstanding.George B. Robbe (1884 to 1963) was a Michigan Tech alumnus and mining engineer who worked at the Quincy Mine and later at Bingham Canyon, Utah. He and his wife assembled a significant mineral collection that included both crystallized specimens and lapidary material. After his death, the collection was donated to the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum in the late 1960s.
