Very large crystal for the species, well-formed and with attached matrix. In great condition. very fine for this Georgia classic.Graves Mountain in Lincoln County, Georgia is a well known mineral locality that was mined for rutile, kyanite, and other industrial minerals from altered metamorphic rocks. Mining began in the early 20th century and continued for many years as an open pit operation. The deposit is also famous among collectors for a wide variety of mineral species found in the altered rock. Lazulite occurs there as deep blue crystals and masses formed during metamorphism of phosphate rich rocks and is one of the notable minerals from this locality.
