This was collected in 1840 and comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video. Fine old German classic. The Aurora Mine near Dillenburg in the Westerwald region of Germany is an old mining locality that worked lead and copper mineralization in hydrothermal veins hosted in Devonian rocks. Mining in the area dates back several centuries and small underground workings extracted minerals such as galena and copper sulfides. The operation was modest in size compared with the larger mines of the Siegerland district. Today the locality is mainly known from historical references and mineral specimens from the region.
