Calcite with Mottramite

This fine, large thumbnail has gemmy calcite crystals paired with olive-green mottramite, a combination highly indicative of this area. The 5-6 mm calcite rhombs are gemmy and glassy, and spread out all across the calcites are dozens upon dozens of small, outstanding mottramite crystals. 1-2 mm tall, they have an almost arborescent growth habit that is far removed from the normal drusy coatings you see. Dr. Pohl's information has the locality listed as the famous Kombat mine, which would make this truly exemplary for the location.
