One of Tsumeb's signature species, dioptase from here is renowned for it high luster, gemminess, and deep-green color. This small miniature or large thumbnail "box buster" specimen brings all that to the table with a huge display impact; but what is most striking is the significant, 2.1 cm dioptase crystal that is the centerpiece of this specimen. Stunning in every way, it has but the slightest amount of microscopic wear that affects the excellent aesthetics hardly at all. A secondary crystal to the lower left has some damage, or this would be priced much higher, but the major crystal is indeed intact. Rarely do you find such a large dioptase crystal from Tsumeb, and scaled to the piece it is even more impressive. This is a competition level thumbnail from early finds here, and of the classic style. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 24804
