Milpillas Azurite

D
Tucson, Arizona
Although it’s a relatively new locality, Milpillas has already become a classic in many collectors’ minds. The mine has produced literally thousands of fine mineral specimens, but is best known for world-class azurite specimens. This specimen, consisting of several tight rosettes of azurite crystals on a bed of fibrous malachite is a typical but beautiful example of the quality of azurite seen consistently at Milpillas. At 4.5 cm tall, this one really packs a large punch in a small package!
