Mimetite from Mexico, Durango, Mapimí Municipality, Mapimí, Ojuela Mine
Great little mimetite from the Ojuela Mine in Mexico. Complete all around with no damage that I can see. Nice 3 dimension shape, almost a half-dome of mimetite. Displays well sitting down or standing up on one edge. This piece is a bright yellow to orange color, that really sparkles in the light. Because this is a relatively thin plate, you get nice translucence when it is backlit. This piece has been in my collection of ~10 years, selling it to make room for other things.
