Hessite
Hessite - silver telluride - is one of the rarest silver-bearing minerals to find in good crystals. Indeed, there is only one locality on Earth where really fine crystals are known, and that is Botés, or Botești, in Alba County, Romania. As such, specimens are highly treasured and difficult to obtain from the limited supply of historic material. This is an exceptionally rare, larger, display worthy specimen where the dark grey Hessite crystals are aggregated gracefully across a bed of well formed terminated Quartz crystals providing an unusually attractive piece. Hessite crystals are always rounded, as if they are melted, but this crystal aggregate still shows its form extremely well. You will have to go a long way to find a better larger display specimen of this ultra-rare silver species.
