Sphalerite, Chalcopyrite, Galena, and Dolomite
This piece is about as dramatic as it gets, featuring beds of immense and nicely-formed Sphalerite crystals (reaching up to an impressive 5.0 centimeters) splayed across the front side of a massive, contrasting dolomitic matrix. All of the Sphalerite, save for a few crystals at the bottom of the front side, are generously dusted with highly iridescent, epitaxial Chalcopyrite crystals that grade incredibly well from vibrant shades of blue and green to rich brass, violet, and magenta. While the Sphalerite crystals have a nice adamantine sheen, the iridescent Chalcopyrite has a strong, flashy metallic luster. The underlying matrix is covered in white, saddle-shaped Dolomite rhombohedrons and isolated associations of Galena and iridescent Chalcopyrite, all of which are interlaced with glittery beds of microcrystals. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
