This might not be the gemmiest of Brazilianite crystals that you will see, but it is large and well formed. At 4.8 cm in length, this bladed monoclinic crystal is extremely well-balanced, complete all round, and accentuated by two smaller well-formed parallel Brazilianite crystals sat upon its front face. The crystal is a typical Brazilianite greenish-yellow colour, but is inclusion-rich which is what impacts its gemminess. Despite the inclusions and associated surface blemishes, this is a really shapely crystal with undamaged edges. Around its base are clustered platy Muscovite mica crystals. Ex David Hardman collection.
