Gypsum var. Selenite
A simple yet perfect example of crystal form from an unexpected source. This 6 cm long monoclinic Gypsum var. Selenite crystal is really wonderful. A floater - complete all round - it comes from Chickerell, a town on the outskirts of Weymouth near the south coast of Dorset, England. For such a soft mineral species there is also no damage, just a tiny neatly written no. 321 penned in white ink discretely on one edge. Ex David Hardman collection, no. 321.
