Corundum var. Sapphire Uncut crystal and cut gem$1,200.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This terrific set of a double terminated Sapphire crystal together with a sapphire blue faceted stone makes a superb combination and one which will look wonderful when displayed. As with so many of the gemstones from Sri Lanka, no more detailed locality information is known. A more exact locality can be speculated, but would be more guesswork than fact. Sapphire is a variety of Corundum and despite usually thought of as blue can, in fact, be any colour apart from red, when it is named Ruby. The colour of the crystal and faceted stone illustrates what a diverse range in shades of blue Sapphire can take. The weight is recorded as 3 grammes and I suspect this is the combined weight of both specimens. These Sapphires are currently in Tucson and I'm in East Coker.
