Classic deep bottle-green cubic Pharmacosiderite crystals (to around 1 mm in size) line cavities within iron oxide rich gossan from the famous early 19th century occurrence at Wheal Gorland near the village of St. Day, Cornwall. Two old number labels are attached to the specimen, one of which links to a lovely old handwritten Italian label. That label simply documents the provenance as "Cornovaglia" (Cornwall), but this specimen is rich enough to link it to Wheal Gorland, and probably the Wheal Muttrell section of the mine. A great example of this unusual iron potassium arsenate species from the premier British occurrence.
