Alabandite with Rhodochrosite$450.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Alabandite is an uncommon manganese sulphide and in this miniature forms well developed crystals to 1.9 cm in a fine-grained, massive Rhodochrosite matrix. It is from Uchucchacua mine in the Oyon Province of Lima Department, Peru, a now famous locality for this combination of minerals. Belonging to the cubic system, the crystals form flattened, 14-sided prisms or tetradecahedrons, of opaque sooty black with a mild greasy lustre. These contrast well set in the almost white, pale pink sucrosic Rhodochrosite. A great example of Alabandite from Uchucchacua mine, Peru.\n
