Leadhillite with Pyromorphite
A vuggy, quartz rich gossan matrix featuring a wide and shallow open vug is richly lined with colourless pale greenish cream to Leadhillite crystals and minor orange-yellow Pyromorphite near the edges. This lovely miniature measures to 5.4 cm and is from Leadhills in Lanarkshire, Scotland, type locality for Leadhillite. The accompanying video shows this specimen in white LED light and ultraviolet light, with the Leadhillite displaying a fabulous bright lemon yellow fluorescence. A choice specimen from this most fascinating and historic locality.
