Leifite
Leifite is a complex sodium beryllium aluminium silicate fluoride hydrate recorded from just a handful of localities. By far the world's best crystals have been found at the legendary Mont Saint-Hilaire at Montérégie, Québec, Canada, not only as large individual crystals, but as attractive spherical aggregates. Despite this Leifite was not at all common, but when it was encountered the cavities tended to be very rich, such as the famous finds of the late 1980s and early 1990s. This miniature specimen features a near 2.5 cm diameter, dome-like spray of colourless to white prismatic Leifite crystals on Serandite matrix. These 'balls' as they are often called are the most desirable form of Leifite and are much sought after.
