Erongo is known for unusual combinations such as aquamarine and tourmaline in proximity, in this case even growing intertwined with one another. This miniature shows an unusual balance in that you have nearly equal visual appeal and size to the two components - one an aquamarine (beryl) and the other a schorl (tourmaline). The strong blue aquamarine is just under 4 cm in height. I love the contrast of the two, and the overall balance! An old specimen from the early 2000s.
