Tucson, Arizona, USAAn approximately 13 x 8 cm plate of vibrant lime green Vesuvianite crystals from the Jeffrey mine at Asbestos in Canada makes a stunning large cabinet display piece, highlighted by several slightly larger crystals of a delicate champagne grading to colourless. The lime green crystals are typically between 0.5 and 1 cm tall and form a complete covering over a 1 cm thick Quartz matrix plate. The champagne crystals measure up to 1.5 cm long and are sparsely distributed over the surface of the green crystals. The individual green crystals are translucent with a multitude of internal reflections and towards their terminations become a more yellowish-green. The specimen is partly triangular and lends itself to be stood vertically for display. A fabulous green Vesuvianite from Jeffrey mine - not just large, but large and pretty too!
