A particularly good small cabinet specimen of well-formed, dodecahedral Galena crystals to 1.7 cm diameter from Smallcleugh mine at Nenthead, Alston Moor, Cumbria, England. These are clustered across both sides of a triangular matrix, encrusted with druses of micro-crystals of dark grey Quartz and creamy to biscuit tan Dolomite. The Galena crystals are greyish metallic silver with generally a bright metallic lustre, although some faces have a semi-matt to satin lustre. A terrific dodecahedral Galena from Smallcleugh.
