Adamite on Calcite$3,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A superb Kamariza Mines Adamite displaying fine lustrous, pastel green crystalline botryoidal habits covering a druse of colourless-white Calcite to 6 x 2.3 cm together with clusters of bladed Adamite crystals on a reddish Marble matrix. Such fine cabinet specimens are seldom seen in this quality from the Kamariza mines. For those of you not too familiar with this area, Kamariza is a large village, now named Agios Konstantinos, but still largely referred to as Kamariza by mineral collectors and as written on labels. The village lies about 5 km north west of the port of Lavrion . This highly mineralised district was worked most intensely between 600 BCE and 100 CE under both the Greeks and Romans. The accompanying video shows this specimen in white LED light and ultraviolet light. In UV the Adamite fluoresces a bright and uniform light apple green which contrasts well against the non-fluorescent matrix.
