A terrific miniature from the world famous Torr Works quarry at Cranmore in Somerset, England, a quarry perhaps better well known to collectors as Merehead. Compact, columnar, white to pink Mendipite which also displays limited areas of pale yellow Paralaurionite, dark green bladed Chloroxiphite and blue micro-patches of Diaboleite, together with characteristic black-grey Manganese-oxides. Torr Works quarry remains in full operation, only 26 miles from Crystal Classics HQ, but has long since passed out of the black, sooty manganese pods which hosted these remarkable suites of oxy-chloride minerals.
