Tucson, Arizona, USASt. Andreasberg, the famous historic silver-mining town in Harz, Lower Saxony, Germany is one of the most famous localities for the rare silver antimonide, Dyscrasite. Compared with other world occurrences, its crystals are distinctly thicker set, with chunky rounded terminations. This extremely rich miniature specimen presents a large area of dark lead-grey tarnished, to silvery grey metallic Dyscrasite crystals rising out from white Calcite matrix. Interestingly, the surfaces of the Calcite are still nicely natural, as many specimens are etched with acid to expose the Dyscrasite within, but this leaves the Calcite smooth. A really lovely old-time German classic. Ex Simone and Peter Huber Collection.
