Excellent, bright lemon yellow crystals of Legrandite line an elongated cavity in a characteristic red-brown Limonitic Mina Ojuela matrix, with areas of colourless Adamite. Legrandite, a rare zinc arsenate, forms crystals measuring to a good 1.2 cm, some displaying a stellate habit. The contrast between the chocolate brown matrix and the bright, lustrous Legrandite makes a fine specimen from the Ojuela mine in Mapimi, Mexico, about 40 km north west of the city of Torreón.
